The Tea House at Mistley Quay opened at the end of April 2016. It is a new joint venture for Clive Cotton, a local resident and his son-in-law, Matt Wright. These guys have given up the pressures of city life, in order to fulfil an ambition to open a cafe/restaurant and be purveyors of fine teas. As well as speciality teas, they offer light refreshments including breakfast smoothies, bacon brioche sandwiches, avocado, tomato and chillies on toast. as well as homemade cakes and afternoon cream teas.

Clive and Matt feel extremely lucky to have found this wonderful venue, which overlooks the River Stour, with fantastic views from Mistley to the Suffolk border, and down to Felixstowe Docks. Wherever possible, they have sourced local suppliers for most items on their menu, and have been delighted with the support and advice given to them along the way. They have certainly made their own mark on the cafe and have transformed the interior which now has more of an eclectic feel. Please note that the cafe welcomes well behaved dogs, adults and children.
